About Us

Paul Grantham is a really experienced rebreather diver in Canada. A local Halifax resident all of his life he began diving in 1987. Timing is everything they say and while he was learning the basics there were a few motivated divers in the area discovering wrecks that had previously remained mostly untouched due to the depth. Within a few short years Paul went from lugging a couple of Aluminum 80’s onto his small zodiac to hauling his doubles onto local charters to those newly discovered deep wrecks.

Taking every opportunity to train and dive Paul eventually joined the small group of local trimix divers on the best local wrecks often using his 26 foot twin engine RIB moored in Halifax.

Beyond his recreational activities he worked as dive crew with a local underwater film company Eco-Nova. Most of his work (250 foot plus dives) was involved with filming for the television program "The Sea Hunters" from 2002 to 2005 following the author Clive Cussler's passion of discovering and diving historically significant wrecks.

Paul's role with this film company was primarily as a support and rescue diver on deep trimix dives in both surface supported helmet and un-tethered diving. Equipment support diving for a film company involves a wide range of diving including deep tri-mix dives, often at night, on wrecks that have not been mapped. This opportunity gave Paul an opportunity to participate in the discovery of the U-215 sub 150 miles off the Nova Scotia shore along with many other significant dives on the east coast.

Paul was first certified on rebreathers in 2001 by Steve Copeland who is one of the development divers on the Inspiration rebreather. Along with that level of background Paul brings many years of technical diving including 7 on rebreathers to his role as an instructor. He has had the opportunity to experiment with many philosophies and equipment styles without singling out a single method but instead offers new technical divers the opportunity to understand how to use and choose different types of equipment.
